The Iron Horse Grill suffered two devastating fires in the 1990s and had since been a dormant blight between downtown and West Jackson. The Iron Horse project team partnered with the MS Development Authority, Jackson Redevelopment Authority and their nonprofit tenant, the MS Musicians Hall of Fame, to create the ideal setting to bring good food together with the richness of Mississippi’s heritage as the birthplace of the blues. The project created 100 construction jobs and 80 permanent tourism/service-oriented jobs after opening. EquityPlus advised its client, Trustmark National Bank, in providing debt and New Markets Tax Credit equity to the project.
